This concert marks the 100th anniversary of the premiere of Gershwin’s historically important Rhapsody in Blue, and will feature clarinetist Lily Tamir-Regev together with Alan Kogosowski. Alan encountered Lily as a 14-year old student at McKinnon High, and he encouraged her to pursue music as a career. She has recently completed her Bachelor of Music at Melbourne University Conservatorium outstandingly, and now performs with Orchestra Victoria as well as holding a teaching position with Geelong Grammar. She is a superb clarinettist, unusually able to bring out the full colour and vitality of Rhapsody in Blue in its original version.
